In the 1901 census, Elizabeth Howcutt, a 60 year old dressmaker who worked at home on her own account, lived in two rooms at this house. Her husband, Andrew, was an inmate at Claybury lunatic asylum, Barkingside, Essex. Andrew was a brother of Joseph Howcutt who lived at 10 Garfield Road.

 

The 1911 census records Elizabeth as living on her private means in one room at 31 Auckland Road.
